Disk storage refers to the amount of server disk storage your account is allocated. The space is used to store your HTML files, graphics, audio/video files and all other files that make up your web site.

A hit is any request the web server receives. Each time an HTML file, graphic file or any other element on your web page is loaded, bandwidth is generated. We do not limit the number of hits you can receive. The only limit is total bandwidth usage. 1000 hits to a 1KB file will result in 1000KB (1MB) of actual bandwidth usage. 1000 hits to a 10KB file will result in 10000KB (10MB)of actual bandwidth usage.

You can use yourdomain.com or your static IP address to access your web site. We support all international domains. Your site will be accessible with or without the www. So www.yourdomain.com or yourdomain.com will open your site.

You can setup subdomains (sales.yourdomain.com) quickly and easily using your online control panel. This is powerful when used in combination with the 50FTP accounts included in the professional account.

Parked domains are domains that point to your main domain/site. For example if you own yourdomain.com, yourdomain.net and yourdomain.org you could add the .net and .org domains to your site as parked domains. This way all three domains open your website. Add on domains are also available for 5.00 a month. Addon domains allow you to point domain names to different folders in your account. This way the addon domain can open a different web site. This allows you to host more than one domain/website on the same hosting account.

The numerical address of your site (i.e. 66.96.215.100). With a dedicated IP address you can view your web site with http://IPAddress or with http://www.yourdomain.com. With a shared IP address you can access your site with http://IPAddress/~username or http://yourdomain.com.

The file manager included in the online control panel is a simple, yet effective and efficient way of accessing, editing, and modifying files on your site.

You can setup as many email accounts @yourdomain.com as you like. For example you can setup bob@yourdomain.com, sue@yourdomain.com and bill@yourdomain.com. Each email address will have it's own username and password so when bob checks his mail he will only see his mail. All email accounts can be checked using web mail, or any pop3 client such as outlook or netscape. Mail can be checked using the pop3 or IMAP protocol.

Mailing lists provide a convenient way to send mail to multiple recipients and to provide a medium for your site's visitor's to discuss relevant topics over email, without them needing to know more than one address.

Auto responders are forwarding address with one difference, for every email delivered to them, they will automatically return an email to the sender with no action on your part.

A forward address is an email address without a mailbox. Mail received by this address will be forwarded on to the email address you associate with it. The primary upshot of this is to allow you to receive email @yourdomain.com without creating another POP mailbox to manage; incoming mail can instead be forwarded on to your existing mailbox.

Your mailbox is like a telephone line, you have the right to privacy and be free from harassing callers. Similarly there are people on the internet you do not wish to receive e-mail from. Entering their address into your blockers list will cause the mail server to quietly delete e-mail received from these addresses, as though it had never been received.

The control panel includes functionality for reading e-mail received by your POP mailboxes over the web, without an e-mail client.

Spam Assassin is an automated mail filter that uses a wide range of heuristic algorithms on mail headers and message body text to identify "SPAM" (unsolicited email). Once identified, the mail is tagged as SPAM for later filtering using your desktop mail client. You can also enable the spam box and have all mail marked as SPAM sent to it. This way you keep the SPAM out of your inbox. Spam Assassin is also fully adjustable.

We provide you with Mysql databases and phpMyAdmin to manage your Mysql databases. We also provide PostgreSQL and phpPgAdmin to manage your PostgreSQL databases. Databases can be used to store any kind of information. For example blogs and forums use databases to store all user information and posts. Most of the auto installed programs we provide use a Mysql database to store information.

All 3 Son's plans fully support flash. You can use flash to make subtle accents to your site or create your entire website using nothing but flash.

We provide full support for RealMedia technology from RealNetworks to stream audio and video from your web site. Streaming allows your users to see or hear your multimedia files without having to download them to their local PCs first.

Pre-configured programs include: Web forum, chat room, shopping cart, CGI wrapper, random HTML, guest book, counter, clock, countdown, CGI email, form mail clone, search engine and banner rotator.

Directory setup with special permissions to auto-execute user-defined scripts. CGI is used to accomplish tasks which are not supported by basic HTML such as a hit counter or guest book. You may use this directory to execute any cgi-script you write or ones that are already pre-written for you. The directory is specially designed for scripts that end in .pl as scripts that end in .cgi will execute from any directory within your web space.

PHP is a server-side scripting language, with built in methods to access database services though SQL, and is a powerful alternative to CGI application for processing data before it is viewed by your sites visitors.

File Transfer Protocol or the method used to "upload" your web site files to storage space on our network. You have unlimited access to your domain via FTP 24 hours a day to setup, change and manipulate your web site. With the professional account you can setup ftp accounts for different users. This will allow them to upload files wile being restricted to the ftp account you setup.

Anonymous FTP allows you to offer a public file server on your own site, where your visitors can download files without an account (and FTP account). Although you can make files available on your website through HTTP, FTP is much faster and more reliable for file transfers. Used correctly, anonymous FTP can become a valuable part of your design.

SSI is the capability to include files from the server inside your webpages by placing tags into the HTML file that link to those files. Using server-side includes makes it unnecessary to include multiple copies of the same information in the HTML file, and make it easier to work with frequently-updated information.

Allows you to remotely connect to other computers on the internet thought a series of RSA encrypted keys and is much like telnet in that it is mostly command line.

These are the text logs showing every hit to your site and what the user downloaded, accessed or viewed. For statistical analysis you can download these to compile on your local machine in programs like Web Trends or other site analysis programs.
